The beacon technologies have been removing boundaries between online and offline in different business industries. This technology is already being used in iOS applications and will be applied to Android systems soon. Apple iBeacon was introduced in 2013, but the rapid development started recently. Companies are now beginning to see the wide range of possibilities it has to offer. According to Global Market Insights, the beacon technology market will surpass $25 billion by 2024.

In the modern world, beacon technology is like a lighthouse in the old times. It repeatedly transmits a single signal that other devices can see. Beacons are based on the transmitter-receiver principle. Each beacon has a unique ID made of numbers and letters, and that identifying information is broadcasted by Bluetooth several times each second. Beacons are tiny and simple devices that include: batteries, a central processing unit (CPU), and the radio. Some beacons have more parts than others, different shapes, colors even unique add-ons, but one common thing is that they transmit a signal.

There are already many application areas for beacons that should make our daily lives easier and support standard processes through automation. If you want to learn more about beacon technology, use the link below.
